SPOILERS! Spider-Man: Far From Home Post-Credit Scenes Explained! SPOILERS!
SPOILERS! Gather round people and read up on the Spider-Man: Far From Home post-credit scenes. We don’t have footage but we do have descriptions! First spoiler warning!!!
Hold up though. If you haven’t seen Spider-Man: Far From Home or you don’t want spoilers, don’t go beyond this sentence. Also, SPOILER ALERT:
Spider-Man: Far From Home post-credit scene 1
In the first post-credit scene, we see Spidey dropping off MJ (Zendaya) after their quick web-swinging around the city. The pair are having so much fun but then it gets ruined when a broadcast goes on air. In the news report, they state that they have footage of Mysterio’s last moments, him stating Spider-Man killed him and his identity.
We see a video of J.K. Simmons, reprising his role as Daily Bugle’s J. Jonah Jameson talking about how Mysterio could have been the next Iron Man and how that all ended after his encounter with Spidey. He also calls out Spider-Man as a menace in typical Jameson fashion.
We also get to see that moment where Mysterio reveals Spider-Man’s secret identity and calls him by his real name, Peter Parker.
This leaves both Peter and MJ shocked.
Spider-Man: Far From Home Post-Credit Scene 2
In the second post-credit scene, we see Nick Fury and Maria Hill driving down the road. Nick tells Maria that its a good thing everything went well eases up a bit and reveals that he has been a Skrull after all. It’s none other than Talos from Captain Marvel.
It looks like he and his wife are back on Earth decades after the events of Captain Marvel and are doing Nick Fury’s work for him.
So where was Nick Fury?
Talos makes a phone call and explains what’s been happening on Earth. The person on the other line is none other than the real Nick Fury. Fury is apparently on vacation but when he gets the update, he quickly gets up from his chair and walks away from his room. It’s revealed that he’s onboard a Skrull ship leading to parts unknown. This may open new worlds and deadlier enemies for the MCU to face down the line.
I personally loved all these post-credit scenes from Far From Home. It breaks the status quo, inverts the typical Spider-Man movie trope and makes things edgier. That’s how you bookend a movie like Iron Man and kick start the brave new world that awaits the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
