The Death of Rick Grimes – The Walking Dead # 191 – 192

It’s an end of an era for Skybound Comics/ Image Comics’ The Walking Dead as the story’s main lead, Rick Grimes was recently killed off unsuspectingly. Here’s the death of Rick Grimes from The Walking Dead # 191 to # 192.

So lets tell this story in a linear format shall we. In issue 191, we see Grimes getting into a confrontation with the people of Commonwealth led by Pamela Milton and her son, Sebastian.

Grimes goes on an impassioned speech letting people know that they shouldn’t be fighting each other and instead work together to get back the world they have lost.

In his speech, he also mentions how much he admires the work of Milton and how the Commonwealth operates, before showing the arm he lost in the war with the undead.

People listen and they drop their previous sentiment. Milton is assisted by her men to prison.

Sebastian tries to put up a fight and rally the Commonwealth people against Rick Grimes but that doesn’t work. We see Sebastian later being an asshole and avoid help in clearing the undead from the streets.

Later, Rick visits Pamela in prison, they converse and he lets her out. Even lets her go back to her home.

In the evening, Carl Grimes and Rick gave a walk and a short talk. Carl shows his dad where he’ll be staying and bids him goodnight.

Later, Rick is awakened by somebody opening the door to his room. Its an armed Sebastian Milton.

Sebastian shoots Rick Grimes, and the lead character of Robert Kirkman’s The Walking Dead is shocked.

 

In The Walking Dead # 192, the drama unfolds further and Sebastian unloads more bullets on Rick. He leaves the body in bed.

 

 

Carl wakes up and walks to his dad’s place only to see him as a Walker.

He instinctively shoots his father and collapses at the shock of everything that happened.

Later in the issue Carl is summoned by Pamela Milton who informs him that they have captured the killer and its none other than Sebastian. Carl verifies if Sebastian would go away for good and Milton confirms.

Carl then confronts Sebastian in prison. He promises he will kill him when and if he goes out of prison.

Carl and Michonne then leads a funeral procession for Rick Grimes and Carl breaks down, seemingly losing it for what happened to them.

So there you go, the compressed story of the Death of Rick Grimes.
