Joe Fix-It Returns – Immortal Hulk # 16
Aside from the apparent resurrection of Rick Jones, we also have another important return in the Immortal Hulk books and its none other Joe Fix-It.
The character has been a staple in the early days of the Hulk and he’s pretty much a smarter version of the Gray Hulk.Fix-It emerged later and came out at night while Banner operated in Las Vegas. He worked as a bouncer and enforcer in the area but eventually left the state after encountering problems with the group known as Maggia.
In Immortal Hulk # 16 by Al Ewing, we witness Banner and Doc Samson return to the abandoned Shadow Base that housed the Devil Hulk for awhile after he was beaten by the Avengers. In the base, the two were ambushed by Bushmaster, who recently became an agent for Shadow Base. Bushmaster shines UV light on Devil Hulk and shoots Samson in the head. As Banner runs away and hides, a new persona suddenly emerges revealing the return of Mr. Fix-It.
The grey in Banner’s eye definitely confirms the return of Fix-It and he’s definitely going to steer Banner out of harm’s way with his cunning and resiliency.
