Netflix Cancels Iron Fist
It’s official. There won’t be any new season for Iron Fist according to Netflix.
The adventures of Danny Rand (Finn Jones) comes to a close as Marvel and Netflix had released a joint statement on the cancellation of Iron Fist as a series.
Marvel’s Iron Fist will not return for a third season on Netflix. Everyone at Marvel Television and Netflix is proud of the series and grateful for all of the hard work from our incredible cast, crew and showrunners. We’re thankful to the fans who have watched these two seasons, and for the partnership we’ve shared on this series. While the series on Netflix has ended, the immortal Iron Fist will live on.
For those who are wondering, the second season was streamed on September with Jones returning as the Iron Fist and working together with Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick). The first season had lukewarm reception but between that season, his appearance in The Defenders and season 2, there was a huge turnaround on fan response.
This season also introduced a lot of new characters such as the Steel Serpent and Typhoid Mary (Alice Eve). This season also ends with the possibility of introducing the previous Iron Fist, Orson Rand and a whole lot more.
There’s still plenty of places where Danny Rand / Finn Jones could appear. This frees up Jones to work on a Heroes for Hire series together with Mike Coulter of Luke Cage.
