New Details Emerge for X-Men Event “Extermination”

We got new details for the Marvel’s Extermination which will be the next even book for the X-Men.

For starters, we have the cover for Extermination # 2 featuring the mutant hunting Ahab together with the original five X-Men all dressed up as his “hounds”.

So we have Jean Grey, Cyclops, Beast, Iceman and Angel all chained up like dogs and sporting the same facial tattoos that X-Men Gold member Prestige aka Rachel Grey has. The cover for Extermination # 2 also looks like its set once again in the future… 20 years in the future to be exact.

Writer Brissom sheds some light about the main thrust of the story and how he promises that it will tie up neatly into the old Uncanny X-Men books from decades ago.

Every single Uncanny X-Men story involving the Original Five X-Men matters. If the X-Men are here, then they’re not where they’re supposed to be, fighting those they’re supposed to fight. What happens when that past starts to unravel? What’s the butterfly effect on our present?

How and why Ahab is back to torture and torment the X-Men will be answered in the first and second issue of Extermination which ships out August. Meanwhile there are also post-credit scenes sprinkled in seven upcoming X-Men books which gives hints about the story.

More importantly, it looks like the story will eliminate the original five X-Men or possibly send them back to the past permanently. Let’s see.
