Russo Brothers Share Thoughts on Silver Surfer in Avengers Infinity War

Joe and Anthony Russo have recently spoken out about this persistent rumor that the Silver Surfer has found his way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe right smack dab in Avengers Infinity War.

In a recent Yahoo UK interview, Joe Russo shoots down the rumor.

Russo says:

I don’t think we own Silver Surfer. But it’s fan-wish fulfillment and, you know, if this Disney-Fox deal goes through there’s going to be a lot more characters coming into the Marvel universe, so some of those crazy fan theories might come true.

So Where Did the Silver Surfer Rumor Come From?

There’s no direct source for the Silver Surfer rumor although if you want to check the Infinity Gauntlet story, youll find that it was the Silver Surfer that dropped into Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum as well as warn the heroes of Earth that Thanos was collecting the Infinity Stones to court Mistress Death.

Although if you’ve seen the Avengers Infinity War trailer, you’ll notice that that scene has been altered and is now featuring Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner aka the Incredible Hulk.

I guess we need to wait a little bit longer for the Silver Surfer to make an official appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the moment the Disney- 20th Century Fox merger is completed, which will take a while.
