Disney Kills Marvel Heroes aka Marvel Diablo
Marvel Heroes was one of the cornerstones of MMORPG gaming in recent history. They did a great story for the game, continually updated the roster of playable characters and worked well with the in-game community. But the house of mouse had recently sealed the game’s fate effective immediately.
The press statement that was released for the media was that the game was going to be shelved for good. No solid context though. It’s just that they terminated their partnership with Gazillion Entertainment.
Here’s the statement as shared on Kotaku.
We regret to inform our Marvel Heroes fans that we have ended our relationship with Gazillion Entertainment, and that the Marvel Heroes games will be shut down. We would like to sincerely thank the players who joined the Marvel Heroes community, and will provide any further updates as they become available.
The Marvel Heroes Omega Twitter page also posted an update regarding server shutdown and in-game purchases.

Reports are coming in that players have already noticed that the end was near for the game for a number of reasons. The game missed four of the weekly community updates, they failed to release the Halloween event as well as the Thor: Ragnarok tie-in content. Two admins/ moderators also just vanished from the MH forums.
Kotaku also reports that there had been a total of three lay-offs that had happened ever since the game was launched.
