Why the Sith Have Red Lightsabers – Star Wars: Darth Vader # 1
Some spoilers for Star Wars: Darth Vader # 1 regarding the Sith and why they have red lightsabers.
This issue picks up immediately after the events if Revenge of the Sith with Palpatine becoming Emperor, Padme dies from childbirth and Anakin Skywalker is reborn as the Sith Lord Darth Vader.
The first question the Emperor asks Lord Vader is where did he put his lightsaber. When Palpatine found out about the loss of Vader’s lightsaber he uses it as an opportunity to educate him about the ways of the Sith.
Yeah so they don’t have anything mixed in the creation of the lightsaber nor do they add in anything in the construction. Its really because the Sith makes even the Kyber crystals bleed and suffer just like other people they deal with on a regular basis.
Its also painful to see so many lightsabers getting incinerated in front of the same people who agreed to the transformation of the Galactic Senate into the Empire.
Oh and if you think Vader had it easy considering he’s already in front of the incinerator, guess again.
Yes dear readers, this volume of Darth Vader’s origin will also tell the tale of the lightsaber he’s been carrying.
Good take on the new mythos Marvel. Thanks to for getting Charles Soule as writer and Guiseppi Camuncoli for art duties. It was a pleasant issue.
