Star Wars Episode VIII Titled Revealed as Star Wars: The Last Jedi
The eighth installment of the main Star Wars movies aka Star Wars Episode VIII now has an official title, its going to be called Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
Here’s what the official Star Wars Facebook page had to say about the title reveal:
We have the greatest fans in this or any other galaxy. In appreciation of the fans, we wanted them to be the first to know the title of the next chapter in the Skywalker saga: STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI
THE LAST JEDI is written and directed by Rian Johnson and produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Ram Bergman and executive produced by J.J. Abrams, Jason McGatlin, and Tom Karnowski.
STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI is scheduled for release December 2017.
So if we’re to believe the rumors and early buzz surrounding the upcoming feature, this could be very well the last “mortal” appearance of Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker.
Are they killing him off?
Or could ‘The Last Jedi’ refer to the enigmatic and uber powerful ‘The Force Awakens’ protagonist Rey as well as force-sensitive former stormtrooper Finn? Are these two the aforementioned ‘last jedi’?
There’s still so many things we don’t know and its going to be a fun season trying to second guess what’s what. For now lets all wait and see what other reveals Disney and Lucasfilm has in store for Star Wars fans.
