Logan Spoilers: What Happened to Charles Xavier?

Now that we passed the first weekend with Logan in cinemas, it’s about time to do some Logan spoilers for the film starring Hugh Jackman and directed by James Mangold. Before that, you might want to check my Logan review.

Massive spoilers in this post so don’t read if you haven’t seen the movie yet.

In the movie, we meet a frail old Professor X who is being cared for by Logan and Caliban (Stephen Merchant). Logan plans to take Charles away from the world because of… reasons.

Later in the film before he gets stabbed to death by the clone Wolverine aka X-24 (who I am now calling Albert), Charles admits in his moment of clarity, he remembers what happened to the school and the X-Men. More importantly he remembers that it’s HIS fault that all of this happened.

But what exactly happened?

Without a proper flashback and it being only mentioned.as something that happened off screen, we have to ask the hows and the whys.

Xavier explodes the Mutant’s Brains

One highly possible theory is that he might have had a seizure that took too long before it subsided and thus causing heads to literally explode. We have heard in the car radio during the trio’s escape that the episode in the hotel is something that is similar to what happened in a New York school.

Xavier made the School go boom

Another scenario that could have happened is Charles Xavier’s epileptic attack had caused a massive explosion. It still sticks to the radio report with the only difference is that it’s one of the students had gone kaboom due to the psychic attack.Maybe this too much for Jean Grey and she Xavier could still see this as his fault and clearly it still is.

It’s also very similar to the pilot episode of the defunct “Wolverine and the X-Men” animated series; only there Xavier is left comatose and his consciousness gets sent to the future.

Xavier’s Episode Alerted the Reavers

Another possible scenario you might consider is that Xavier’s episode had alerted to Reavers prompting them to attack the school. Just like Stryker in X-Men: Apocalypse. Exactly like Apocalypse. But then again this is a bit far-fetched but it could be something that could actually happen.

So what do you think? Do you a theory or an idea on how Charles Xavier pretty much killed the X-Men and the mutants? Leave a comment in the comment section below:
