And because it’s All Saints Day/ All Souls Day, its just right to pay tribute to what I consider to be the most heart-breaking death in all of comics. It not only drove Spider-Man to what he’s doing up until the current issue, its also what made him such a relatable character. Without any further delay, Amazing Spider-Man # 121 by Gerry Conway, Gil Kane and John Romita.
As I mentioned even until today’s volume of Amazing Spider-Man whenever the topic of the death of Gwen Stacy is brought up to either Peter Parker or Spider-Man it throws the man off his game. Even during the events of Spider-verse, there was a point that Parker wanted to spare Spider-Gwen from all the death and horror brought about by the war between the Inheritors and the Spiders.
This was also one of those moments that sealed the deal for Spider-Man, making him truly the everyman of comic books.
