Sony to Release Playstation 4 Slim this September with Php17,300 Price Tag
Sony Interactive Entertainment Hong Kong Limited Singapore Branch or SIES announced a new version of the Playstation 4 hitting the market this month, the Playstation 4 Slim (CUH-2000 series) which will be available in the Philippines beginning 24th September 2016 with a suggested retail price or SRP of PHP17,300.
There’s a lot of reasons why this is cheaper compared to the earlier models but the biggest changes occur in the internal architecture of the Playstation 4 Slim. The changes reduced the volume by 30% compared to the previous models.
The Playstation 4 Slim is 25% lighter than the first models (CUH-1000 series) and 16% lighter compared to the current CUH-1200 models.
Energy efficiency is a key issue for both the 1000 series and the 1200 series which Sony has tackled head on during the designing stage of the CUH-2000 / Slim series. A sizable comparison in energy efficiency has been reported with the 2000 series using 34% less energy compared to the 1000 and 28% less compared to the 1200 series.
Another obvious change is the aesthetic and the look of the PS4 Slim:
The form factor of the new system inherits the slanted body design of the previous models, with the foreside and backside of its body slightly angled. The corners are trimmed and curved, giving it a softer impression that would appeal to a wider range of audience. The new simple look, with gloss finished PS family mark designed on the center of the top surface, will fit perfectly wherever it is placed.
Sony has also announced that starting with the new PS4 Slim and the Playstation 4 Pro, HDR or High Dynamic Range imaging technology 4 will be available. It’s their way of getting ready for the future of imaging technology. which enables the reproduction of brightness and darkness while realizing a much wider range of colors. Users who own an HDR-compatible TV will be able to enjoy supported games and other entertainment content with visuals that are more realistic, strikingly vivid and truer to the way the human eye sees the real world.
Games that are currently hitting release under SIE’s belt include FINAL FANTASY XV (SQUARE ENIX CO., LTD.), Gravity Rush 2, Horizon Zero Dawn (SIE WWS), Ryu Ga Gotoku 6 Inochi no Uta.(SEGA Games Co., Ltd.), The Last Guardian (SIE WWS), Thumper (Drool).
