Who Died in Civil War II # 1?
Last week’s Civil War II # 1 from Marvel Comics by Brian Michael Bendis and David Marquez kills off two superheroes in one issue alone.
More of the variant covers after the jump.
So there’s a separate post for the whole story but for this particular post, lets just focus on who died in this issue alone.
So after an Ultimates-led counter against Thanos, two superheroes died in the line of duty or at least doing the right thing.
Tony Stark, James Rhodes’ bestfriend, rushes to the Triskelion to respond to the death of his friend.
Stark then looks for Captain Marvel aka Carol Danvers who led the counteroffensive; its here Tony learns of how Rhodey died, which we saw in the Civil War II Free Comic Book Day issue.
Another heroine who got injured in the fight with Thanos was She-Hulk…
She got hit with a misfired missile that was supposed to be for Thanos courtesy of War Machine. Well, in the aftermath of the fight, I thought she just shrugged it off but apparently she was critically injured for that.
Well by the end of the issue, Jennifer Walters aka She-Hulk dies as well from the injuries she sustained…
That’s after a short discourse with Carol about doing the right thing and fighting for it.
So what’s going to happen now? Well we know that there’s a chance that Marvel’s already written in a potential War Machine replacement. As for a replacement for She-Hulk or another character that would be taking over, well there’s nobody here yet. Also I remember, Civil War II is supposed to bring back the Hulk again maybe to deal with the repercussions of Jennifer’s death.
