SM Supermalls Asks Fans to ‘Choose Your Side’ for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Event
To hype up the release of Warner Bros. Pictures Philippines’ new film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, SM Supermalls in partnership with WB, DC Entertainment, Pacific Licensing Studios have come up with a touring mall event with the theme “Choose Your Side”.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is directed y Zack Snyder (Man of Steel) and stars Oscar winner Ben Affleck (Batman/ Bruce Wayne) and Henry Cavill as Superman/Clark Kent in the character’s first big-screen pairing. The film opens March 26 and also stars Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Laurence Fishburne and a whole lot more.
The event which currently calls SM North EDSA’s “The Block” as it’s home features various Batman and Superman themed kiosks including sets based on the film’s version of Metropolis and Gotham City, home to the World’s Finest duo.
Also present in the venue are life-size statues of Superman…
A life-size statue of Batman in his ‘self-preservation’ suit…
… and Wonder Woman.
These statues were done by Beast Kingdom btw.
The actual unveiling of the 1:1 Batmobile happened last weekend, March 12, 2016.
For a fun time, media guests and bloggers were asked to wear black for Team Batman and blue for Team Superman. Obviously I always go for the winner and that happens to be Batman.
The event was hosted by fellow geek and DJ Show Suzuki. It opened with a dance number from UP and DLSU’s respective dance groups; representing the caped crusader and the big blue boyscout.
In between sets of product showcasing from partners like Silverworks and Energizer, guests also had to join a Twitter Trivia Contest using the hashtag #batmanvsupermanph as well as #batman for team Batman and #superman for Team Superman.
Of course the main event was the actual reveal for the Batmobile
Also let me just comment on how cool these guys look and not because I’m friends with most of them and one of them cooks a mean batch of chili con carne.
Some of the sponsors for the event also prepared great activities for that day including Energizer, Silverw0rks and Blue.
Not to be outdone, SM also featured tons of new toys based on the characters from the movie…
while LEGO brought out several DC Entertainment related friends.
Overall, the experience was radical and exciting and I admit I shed a geek tear when I saw the Batmobile up close. And later when there were two Batmen in different eras.
Filbars was also there to exhibit some of their BvS related items including the Batman v Superman Cosbaby set.
The event was a raging success and SM Supermalls definitely knows how to generate buzz for the film.
Visit the Batman v Superman display at the Block’s event area in SM North EDSA. The Batmobile would be on display until April 3, 2016 so I suggest you visit SM North to get a selfie taken ASAP.
Special thanks to the event sponsors and organizers – PMCM Events Management, Silverworks, WB Phils., SM Supermalls, Axis Watch, Magnolia, Penshoppe, Blue, Energizer, Goldilocks, MSI and a whole lot more.
