And Now Our First Official Look at the New Power Rangers outside Their Costumes
Who’s excited to see the new Power Rangers movie set for release in 2017? I know I am. As production begins for the movie, Lionsgate releases an official photo featuring the young cast outside their costumes.
We have to thank Entertainment Weekly for this photo.
So in this photo we have popstar Becky G (Trini the Yellow Ranger), RJ Cyler (Billy the Blue Ranger), Naomi Scott (Kimberly the Pink Ranger), Ludi Lin (Zack the Black Ranger) and Dacre Montgomery (Jason the Red Ranger)
Here’s something I noticed too. They didn’t put a black dude for the Black Ranger because its off-putting and then they cast Cyler from the movie Me, Earl and the Dying Girl for the role of the Blue Ranger. Could it be a way of making amends to what was done with the original series star who was harassed on set because he was gay? Maybe I’m just reading into the casting a bit too much.
Again, cameras just began rolling for this so it could be a while before they drop a teaser trailer or a trailer. I’m also fairly interested in seeing Elizabeth Banks in her Rita Repulsa garb because hey, this is Elizabeth Banks we’re talking about here.
