SkyCable Changes HBO Go Policy (bad timing for GoT fans)

I’m a bit pissed with what Skycable recently did with HBO and HBO Go.

Preface:

Just last week, users could instantly access the service just so long as you sign up and place you Skycable account numbet and account name. This will instantly give you access to HBO Go’s movie library which has lots of good series like Game of Thrones and Westworld plus documentaries.

Today:

Me and wife were trying to rewatch Game of Thrones season 8 episode 4 “The Last of the Starks” when it appears that we were both locked out. I tried refreshing and reseting the password but nothing happens.

What we did was check settings >help > faqs and thats where we found out what happened.

The cable operator had apparently changed their rule on who can access HBO Go.

As you can see in the screenshot above, regular subscribers can no longer stream movies on the platform. To be able to do that, you would need to BUY the HBO Pak as an add on to your account.

You could also still use HBO Go if you pay SkyCable php 2999 and php3999 under your One Sky plan.

Bit of a bummer really especially if GoT is part of the reason you evennuse the streaming service. I guess the cable company realized how they can get profits without having to go back on their word that the service is exclusive and “free” for subscribers.

Ekis yan Skycable.
