Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.5 crowns a first ever dual-form Void Hunter in Ye Shunguang and brings in Zhao too

A new void hunter will be crowned as we reach Zenless Zone Zero version 2.5 on December 30 in the form of Ye Shunguang as well as Krampus agent Zhao!

Today global entertainment brand HoYoverse has dropped new details for their urban fantasy ARPG game Zenless Zone Zero particularly for its version 2.5 patch titled “To Be Fuel for the Night” set for release on 30th of December! This propels our main characters, the Proxies Wise and Belle, into the climax for season 2 which also introduces what may be the most powerful character in the game to date, the Void Hunter Ye Shunguang and in the second part of the patch, the popular Zhao.

The update will also bring in expanded Hollow gameplay and multiplayer combat with more optimizations for the way of life. And because its the New Year, players will also get a free S-Rank Agent Zhao, 1,000 Polychromes, a new outfit for Jane, and additional rewards.

In this update, players will get to meet and pull for the Yunkui Summit senior Ye Shunguang who will rise to as the first dual-form Void Hunter.

The newest void hunter comes with a unique attribute called “Honed Edge” where she enters her “Enlightened Mind” state and activate her signature With her unique attribute Honed Edge, Ye Shunguang can enter the Enlightened Mind state and activate her signature Ether Veil to unleash massive Honed Edge damage while applying a vulnerability effect to enemies. She will also be entering the battle with her Bangboo Sprout who also sticks with the theme of using falling swords/ flying swords.

S-Rank Krampus agent Zhao will also joining the roster in Version 2.5.

Described as a Sub-DPS with healing coverage, Zhao weaves the battlefield with her massive weapon and accumulates Frostbite which also works with Ether Veil, with her special attack Ether Veil: Wellspring which grants powerful buffs for the entire squad.

Storywise, the latest chapter focuses on the final moments of the escalating crisis on Waifei Peninsula. The crisis continues to go from bad to worse with the Qingming Sword resonating with the primordial power of the Creator, something that also has a strong negative effect on Ye Shunguang. Not to mention the Proxies losing a significant ally who has helped them in past battles making the odds severely against them in the final battle. The problem is also heightened with the appearance of the mysterious white flowers blooming all across Failume Heights, signaling the slow and deadly expansion of the Lemnian Hollow. Players will have to work as the proxies to venture deeper into the Lumite Mine ruins to uncover hidden truths within the Hollow.

There will also be a special epilogue episode titled Sword Seeker Chronicles where players support Ye Shunguang as she looks for a permanent remedy for the Qingming Sword’s backlash. This investigation episode will show off the Bladeflash Mirage ability and provide generous exclusive rewards including a brand new W-Engine.

Fans of multiplayer gaming can also take part in a limited event titled Joint Investigation: The Divine Maze where three-member squads face fast-paced cooperative challenges that reward coordination and tactical timing.

Proxies can also expect a new feature called Proxy Outpost which allows Proxies to join or create outposts, accept commissions and having discussions with other Proxies in the server.

Version 2.5 also introduces quality-of-life updates that refine combat and progression. The existing Agents Soldier 11, Grace, Soldier 0 – Anby, Ellen, and Burnice will be enhanced with updated mechanics and performance boosts, with additional agents in the standard Stable Channel scheduled for future enhancements. Meanwhile, improvements to Shiyu Defense and Deadly Assault further polish the gameplay loop, while the new sweep function for Combat Simulation stages lets players consume Ether Batteries to instantly gather promotion materials and Drive Discs, easing the burden of day-to-day progression.

To welcome both new and returning Proxies, all players can jump directly into Version 2.5’s story through Advance Screening, while expanding their squads with a lineup of limited-time channels. The channels for Ye Shunguang and Zhao will run throughout the entire version, and a special rerun channel in the latter half guarantees the first S-Rank signal obtained will be a selected character among Alice, Soldier 0 – Anby, or Astra, along with their signature W-Engines returning with the same guarantee mechanic.

As a special thanks, HoYoverse will also throw in a special event called “Filmgoer Thank-You Gift” where they can unlock multiple top-ups during Version 2.5 including a special S-Rank selection with characters ranging from Jane Doe, Burnice, Rina, Nekomata, Soldier 11 and Grace.

There will also be a number of skins available for players including a very risque skin for Jane Doe…

and another one for Ye Shunguang.
