At SDCC / Comic Con 2026, Marvel has revealed several one-shot books that tie in with the ongoing horror book Infernal Hulk with the unholy creature going to war with the four main pillars of the Marvel Universe starting September 2026!
This story propels the former green goliath into what Marvel describes as a “Hulk War” which could be a big story set for 2027 or beyond.

Leading into next year’s Hulk War event, Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Nic Klein’s acclaimed ‘Infernal Hulk’ spins out into an all-new series of ‘Infernal Hulk Vs.’ one-shots that follows the Infernal Hulk as he clashes with Marvel’s heroes and assembles the Infernal Avengers, his team of corrupted, monstrous champions.
Written by Johnson with art by Jonas Scharf, Cian Tormey, Javier Pina and more, these penultimate chapters of the Infernal Saga begin in September with ‘Infernal Hulk Vs. Wolverine’ #1 and continue through December in ‘Infernal Hulk Vs. Fantastic Four’ #1, ‘Infernal Hulk Vs. Spider-Man’ #1 and ‘Infernal Hulk Vs. Avengers’ #1. Each one-shot delivers a devastating defeat that brings Infernal Hulk one smash closer to remaking the Marvel Universe in his twisted image.
I haven’t picked up the second issue of Infernal Hulk but it was definitely a hardcore horror book. Phillip Kennedy Johnson was on point with his version of the Hulk, but I really wish we could get back to the traditional Incredible Hulk and his traditional smashing and destroying stuff. But still, the book is giving us fresh ideas, much like what Al Ewing did when it was his run on Immortal Hulk.
