realme C75 Review – Waterproof. Worry-proof and strong as heck

Here’s my realme C75 review which is now available through stores and online. realme’s water resistant smartphone has an SRP of P10,999 for the 8GB+256GB variant and P8,999 for the 8GB+128GB variant

Watch the unboxing below:

The Realme C75 is a standout addition to the budget smartphone market, offering impressive features and performance that make it a great value for money. For users who want a combination of durability, smooth performance, and gaming capabilities, the C75 is a solid choice. Let’s take a deeper dive into what this phone offers, especially highlighting its waterproofing and gaming specs, alongside the overall features.

Design and Build Quality

The Realme C75 is designed with toughness and durability in mind. The phone holds steady and still rocking a good look with its sleek design and its IP68 waterproof rating.  While it’s not super rugged, it does look strong enough to be fully dustproof as well as waterproof to as much as 1.5 meters of water for 30 minutes without any damage.

This would be the perfect phone for people who live in areas with a lot of bodies of water or if your job consists of being constantly near rivers or lakes and its also perfect for motorcycle riders and owners who are constantly outside regardless whether its sunny or rainy. I can even see students using this as their daily driver because it’s spillproof and can survive whether its a cup of coffee or a glass of water.

Display

For the price range, I can’t complain with the phone’s display. We’re getting a 6.72-inch LDC display with a 1080 x 2400 resolution that’s perfect for just about any kind of media that needs to be played or streamed on a smartphone.  The phone’s screen to body ratio is also up to par with what realme offers consumers and that’s 86.3%. Brightness on this is exceedingly good too with 690 nits its bright but not too bright that it burns your eyes in a dark room.

Durability is also one of the key components and key selling points for the smartphone and for the realme C75, we have armorshell glass. Not as strong as top of the line products like GorillaGlass but it does the job pretty well.

Performance and Gaming

One of the biggest selling points of the Realme C75 is its gaming performance. Under the hood, it boasts a MediaTek Dimensity 900 chipset paired with 6GB/8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD). The Dimensity 900 is a 5G-capable processor that provides solid performance for most tasks, and when it comes to gaming, it really shines.

With the realme C75, gamers will have no problem achieving perfect performance in PUBG Mobile, Call of Duty Mobile, and Genshin Impact. Even rendering graphic heavy games and doing all this on medium settings is a breeze. Not only does the Mali-G68 GPU allow smooth rendering of graphics on the phone, but the 90 Hz refresh rate display further enhances it’s capabilities. As a result, many of the most popular games on the market can be enjoyed lag and fluidity issues free. Additionally, the Liquid Cooling Technology achieves giving superb results over extensive gaming sessions, allowing phones to keep stable temperatures and avoid throttling.

Camera

The realme C75 also delivers a solid performance with it’s camera even for it’s unbelievably low price. It comes with a 50MP main camera and a 8MP front or selfie camera that promises to give you great shots no matter the angle.

The 48MP main camera on the Realme C75 delivers solid performance for its price. In good lighting conditions, the camera produces sharp, detailed photos with accurate color reproduction. The ultrawide lens and macro lens offer versatility, though the ultrawide camera can sometimes struggle with distortion at the edges of the frame. The 16MP front-facing camera is good for selfies and video calls, delivering clear and vibrant shots.

While the camera system isn’t the best you’ll find in high-end devices, it’s more than adequate for daily use and casual photography.

For videos, you can expect to get up to 1080p@30fps

Other features on the phone includes:

  • PRO
  • Panoramic
  • Hi-Res
  • Movie Mode
  • Slo-Mo
  • Time-Lapse
  • Text Scanner
  • Tilt-Shift

Here are some sample shots from both the main and the selfie camera of the realme C75:

Images taken with the main camera are well-developed but is a little lacking when you zoom in to look at quality. It does take great low-light and night shots and the landscape shots are also quite good. Color balance is also just the right amount, not baking the colors too much and not coming off as underdeveloped. For something around P10,000, its certainly a good investment.

Battery Life

Battery life is another strong suit for the Realme C75. The phone comes with a 5000mAh battery so that means you can use the phone for a whole day without ever needing to charge. And yes, even if your outdoors constantly connected to the Internet via Mobile Data and playing games like Genshin Impact, Mobile Legends Bang Bang and more! In terms of charging speed, the realme C75 comes with 33W fast charging capabilities; sure its not as powerful as the midrange and high end smartphones but it does the job well of bringing up your phone’s juice from 0% to 100% in 1 hour. If you’re in a rush, a 15-minute charge can give you several hours of use, making it incredibly convenient for people on the go.

Software

The Realme C75 runs on Realme UI 3.0, which is based on Android 12. The interface is clean, intuitive, and customizable, offering plenty of options to personalize your experience. Realme UI also includes a range of useful features, such as Dual Mode for gaming and the ability to clone apps, making it easy to juggle multiple accounts for services like WhatsApp and Facebook. I do have to warn you that it comes with a lot of bloatware so you might want to do some spring cleaning the moment you pop open your box.

There’s also some semblance of AI functions here but not as robust as other smartphones in the market but its strictly just the AI function that “unblurs” photos. However that too also suffers because its still in the beta phase at the time of this review. Maybe in a few months or after a few updates we might get an improved version that works well.
