While there’s big hype over the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie coming this December, Marvel Studios didn’t have much for fans at the Marvel Studios Panel at Comic Con 2026 in San Diego. Still, what we got is definitely something that fans can talk about for the next few days
Here’s the breakdown in no particular order
Ghost Rider
It’s been officially announced that Ryan Gosling (Project Hail Mary, Barbie) will star in the upcoming MCU version of Ghost Rider with trades stating that he’ll be playing Ghost Rider Johnny Blaze, the role made popular by Nicholas Cage in the two Ghost Rider films he did for Sony namely “Ghost Rider” and “Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance”.
Gosling was also in attendance and was warmly applauded on stage after the casting announcement together with the film’s director Shawn Levy.

Black Panther III
Meanwhile, the other major announcement from Marvel Studios for San Diego Comic Con happens to be a return trip to Wakanda. Black Panther III is officially happening with Ryan Coogler returning to direct the film. Expect most of the cast to return here including Letitia Wright as Shuri/ Black Panther and Winston Duke as M’Bakku, the King of Wakanda. Joining the cast is David Jonsson (Alien: Romulus) who takes over as the new Black Panther and the son of Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa.
According to Coogler and Marvel Studios, Black Panther 3 is set for release December 15, 2028.
Oh and yes, if you saw Black Panther 2, you know that the end introduced us to TChalla’s child, prince Toussaint aka T’Challa who has been secretly raised by his mom. That was an emotional moment if you still remember that complete with a special Rihanna track playing over the background.
So I guess the only thing that needs to be cleared up is how he got from that to a young adult in a span of a few years in our time.
Meanwhile fans in attendance at the Marvel Studios panel also received a cool Doctor Doom mask and hood plus get treated what could be the second trailer for Avengers Doomsday featuring more scenes including a final shot of Doctor Doom bringing the Sentinels to life to attack the X-Men or so the reports suggest.
Fans of Spider-Man: Brand New Day was also treated to a new clip and some precious stage time by Punisher himself Jon Bernthal.
There was also a special fan who asked Paul Rudd on whether there’s a chance to add in more characters in “Doomsday” and that Deadpool cosplayers was later revealed to be Ryan Reynolds himself.
