HONOR X9D 5G Review
Here’s my HONOR X9D 5G review which is now available in stores with SRP P18,999 and a pre-order price of P17,999 until the end of January 2026!
Design

The HONOR X9d 5G stands at 161.9mm x 76.1mm x 7.76mm and weighs approximately193g which also includes the phone’s battery. It also comes in three colors namely Reddish Brown, Midnight Black and Sunrise Gold. My review unit was reddish brown and I’m totally good with this colorway.
I also like how thin and slim this device is.

Nothing different in terms of button placement and designs too with the right hand side of the phone housing the volume control and the power button. The bottom part comes with the USB port and forward speaker.
Display

In terms of size, I’m also happy with the phone’s 6.79 inches AMOLED display. The device’s Resolution of 2640 x 1200 is also great if you ask me. It’s big enough to let me actually see what I’m watching or playing but not too cumbersome to carry around especially in situations where you want to watch or play games while on your 15 minute coffee break and you don’t actually have a table to place your phone on. I’m sure BPO peeps can relate to what I’m talking about. HONOR has also done away with curved edges for the screen so it’s back to the standard screen setting.
The screen color is totally fine too with 100% DCI-P3,1.07 billion colors. Still, when using under direct sunlight it suffers quite a bit but still good for use. Just go under some shade and you’re probably good. Lastly the screen’s glass is made of Aluminosilicate glass which makes it a hell of a lot tougher than the normal phones out in the market today!
Camera

The HONOR X9d 5G comes with a 108MP Main Camera (F1.75) +5MP Wide (F2.2). And from the get go you can actually see how good the camera is. My take though is that it works extremely well when subjects are closer to you. There is also some semblance of zoom but I would only go as far as the prescribed 3x zoom at the most. Going beyond might not be best. Here are some sample shots using the HONOR X9d 5G’s main camera:

It does a pretty good job of taking photos from various angles and sizes. You have 6x, 1x and 3x zoom for you to choose. Above you can see that this is 1x zoom. It does however do good with 10x or its version of ultra-wide shots.

Zooming is is also OK for me but the details tend to slip a little bit as you close in on your subject.
Night mode and shooting photos and videos on poorly lit places isn’t also bad with the HONOR X9d as you can see here, the images are pretty crisp and clear even with low-light setting.

Shooting underwater is also fun as long as its freshwater thanks to the IP69 rating given to the device. You can be sure that you can take photos and videos on Underwater mode and that these outputs are decent at the very least and sharp at the most.

Gaming

HONOR X9D 5G puts the fun back with its packed specs. Playing mobile games like Mobile Legends Bang Bang and Call of Duty Mobile is smoother compared to the past version although I wouldn’t suggest putting this to max setting on most games. However, if you just want to play casual games including titles like Genshin Impact or Wuthering Waves then this device is still worth picking up.
UI/ UX/ Performance
The HONOR X9d 5G comes with the Android 15 OS concurrently working with MagicOS 9. It also means it comes with the standard new functions and features for Android phones but the basics are still intact. This smartphone
Here are some of the benchmarking apps cores the HONOR X9d 5G got. As you can see system performance score usually hits around the 13,000 mark. CPU tests also show that the device hits around the 6,000 mark which means its very capable of some of the more complicated stuff on mobile.
