Here’s my HONOR Pad X8b review which was recently launched touted as #TheToughestTablet with SRP Php9,999 now available through online stores and in HONOR stores nationwide!
HONOR Pad X8b Design
The HONOR Pad X8b comes in a slim metal body that’s durable as hell, I kid you not it can really withstand all the dropping and smashing. Check out my video below:
The tablet also looks great. While other tablets under Php10,000 might look cheap and decent, HONOR actually took the necessary steps to make the HONOR Pad X8b have this premium vibe. If you’re also shopping around for a tablet that’s lightweight, then this is also your prime bet because it clocks in at just 1lb or around 496 grams. It’s light enough to put in your kid’s bags and not make them feel like carrying more stuff.
HONOR Pad X8b Display
Aside from being an actual tank of a tablet being able to withstand blunt force damage that could “unalive” other tablets of the same class and category, the HONOR Pad X8b also has some good stuff for the display including a solid 11-inch Full HD display with screen resolution of 1920×1200.
It’s the perfect companion for kids for studying and entertainment. It’s big enough to actually enjoy streaming videos on Youtube and some light gaming.
The refresh rate is also basic, clocking in at 90Hz, something that’s a cut above other tablets at around the same price range.
HONOR Pad X8b Battery
The HONOR Pad X8b comes with an 8300mAh battery. Again, for the price range, it’s decent and dependable. With minimal use, this could last you around 2 days which was what happened in my case.
But in case you or your kids will be using the tablet heavily, this could last an entire day or approximately around 10 to 14 hours if you’ll be using this primarily as a video player for the whole day.
Unfortunately for this product, there are no fast-charging capabilities. This might cause a bit of a problem, especially since it takes a LONG time to hit a full 100% charge also because of the big battery.
HONOR Pad X8d Camera
In terms of camera quality and image quality, I can say that the HONOR Pad X8b is up to par with the other tablets around the same price point. The main camera only has one lens and can shoot up to 5MP with HDR. The maximum output for videos is 1080p at 30fps. The same goes for the tablet’s front camera, which has 5MP f/2.0. Also at 1080p at 30fps.
The camera is good enough for Zoom meetings or Google Meet for your kids and teenagers, too.
HONOR Pad X8b Audio
The audio quality is OK at best. It’s decently loud thanks to the four speakers that HONOR has placed on both sides of the tablet. It definitely helps in providing a good viewing experience whether its for social media videos or streaming films or series.
HONOR Pad X8b Performance
The HONOR Pad X8b runs on Android 16 with the HONOR MagicOS
Thanks to the Snapdragon 680 processor together with a dependable 4GB RAM, you can use the tablet for light to heavy usage when it comes to browsing, streaming and also some light gaming. I would not recommend the tablet, though for heavy gaming usage as well as equally heavy multitasking with several high-performing apps running together.
So that would also mean games like Genshin Impact and COD Mobile or PUBG is definitely out of the picture. It is more friendly for games that have lighter system requirements like Candy Crush or similar games, which is something more for kids because of its hardware limitation, being that the tablet is using an Adreno 610 GPU.
VERDICT
I like the HONOR Pad X8b for its durability. I’m sure you’ll like this one too especially since its a very budget-friendly tablet. I have to set your expectations though as there might be some features that you might find lacking especially when it comes to the performance and the camera. But you’ll really appreciate the battery life. For me, it’s one of those entry-level tablets that you can just leave around your place and use as an additional or backup tablet.
Putting it in the perspective of kids however, this is a good tablet to bring and give to them. And also because its in their nature to be clumsy especially when holding electronics, the HONOR Pad X8b is something that they can clearly use.
