HONOR Philippines continues to propel the HONOR 600 series to the next level with its latest release designed specifically for budget-friendly consumers. Here’s my HONOR 600S 5G review, which is now officially launched here in the Philippines with SRP

Design
Aesthetically, nothing’s changed. It does feel like it’s downsized a wee bit, and again, that’s because this is the budget-conscious version of the HONOR 600. For this release, buyers can choose between three colorways, namely Misty Purple, Desert Gold, and Velvet Black. Continuing the trend that HONOR 600 has already established with past releases, the 600s 5G feel smooth and lightweight, weighing in at around 216.5g and a height of 168,3mm.
This smartphone also features Dual SIM setup…
Display
The biggest difference between the HONOR 600 and the HONOR 600S 5Gwas the display quality. For this version, we get a 6.872-inch TFT LCD screen including Eye Comfort Technology and Dynamic Dimming. The colors are fine for me, I actually think that for something in this price range, it’s pretty good. Above, you can see that the aspect ratio is good enough, and the same can be said for the phone’s actual resolution (1520 x 720). The phone’s display was also smooth for scrolling on social media, whether its casual scrolling or hardcore doomscrolling.

Camera
The HONOR 600S features a dual-camera system that delivers the same image quality as the HONOR 600 series. The smartphone comes with a 50MP main camera, together with the auxiliary rear lens for depth and macro assistant lenses. Check out some of the sample shots.
Zoom is also good, although the lens shows its limitations. So it’s one of those phones that can really zoom in on a subject but the quality declines big time as you zoom closer. Here are some zoom samples.
There’s also a 5MP front camera/ selfie camera featuring an f/2.2 aperture. Here are some camera samples using the selfie camera…
For content creators who are on a budget, you also have up to 1080p at 30fps. Just like its older siblings, it also features the special underwater photo mode.
For main camera videos, you get to choose between 1080p or 720p but the FPS remains stable at 30. Check out the sample video below:

Battery
One of the top selling points for the HONOR 600S 5G is the battery. The standard HONOR 600 already has good battery life, but the 600S 5G comes with an 8100mAh lithium-ion polymer battery. No wireless charging for this one, but it does have good wired charging capabilities with 45W HONOR SuperCharge system
Gaming
Gaming is smooth albeit limited. You can enjoy your usual games like Mobile Legends Bang Bang, Honor of Kings or Call of Duty Mobile to the more hardware heavy games like Genshin Impact and Wuthering Waves. Yes, you can play all of those but the hardware and software isn’t built to cater to these games for a long time so there’s a chance of getting heating issues. Plus the graphics and frame rates could work but only for mid settings, bringing the performance to the next tier will ruin the game for you.
Performance
I tested the HONOR 600S on several benchmarking apps and tools and these are the results:
