Honkai Star Rail version 3.4 is officially coming July 2 to mobile, PC and Playstation 5 with a new adventure featuring Phainon and the special collaboration with Fate/Stay Night [Unlimited Blade Works].

Version 3.4 update will be titled “For the Sun is Set to Die,” and will be available starting July 2. This update will see Phainon working together with the Trailblazers as they stand together at the crossroads of destiny. This new update will also bring in three new playable characters namely Phainon and two crossover characters from Fate/Stay Night [Unlimited Blade Works] namely Saber and Archer. Each brings a unique background and combat style to the battlefield, adding new depth and flair to this epic journey. Across the version, a slate of limited-time events, feature optimizations, and fresh content promises to challenge expectations and stir excitement in every corner of the galaxy.

Picking up where the story left off, the Chrysos Heirs gave everything they had, racing against time to help the Trailblazer and Phainon return the final Coreflame to the Vortex of Genesis. As the veils shrouding Amphoreus begin to lift, one truth becomes undeniable: things were never as simple as they seemed. What unfolds next reaches far beyond a single world — the dawn of the Era Nova may echo across the stars. And in the wake of it all, the Trailblazer’s choices could shape the very destiny of the universe itself.

In version 3.4, players can expect to have a higher chance of pulling Phainon, the Aedes Elysiae native was the first of the Chrysos Heirs that welcomed the Trailblazer in Amphoreus. Phainon has continuously stepped forward and protect others from the ongoing war and cataclysm but behind that calmness lies the burden of great expectations. As the story progresses players will visit Phainon’s hometown, a new map, Aedes Elysiae while retracing the warrior’s steps as a warrior to the Flame-Chase member he is today.

Phainon can collect “Coreflames” during combat and when he has collected enough Coreflames he can transform the battlefield into a “Territory” where he also uses a new and deadlier form with combat power drastically increased. The transformation also introduces new abilities which channel powers of Origination, Calamity and the Foundation Titans.  Allies will also disappear during the Ultimate but their buffs will remain until they return. Having Phainon in the team also increases the team Technique Point cap.

And just like Castorice, using techniques on enemies while in exploration will give an Insta-Kill move avoiding combat.

Honkai Star Rail version 3.4 will also bring players back to the world of Penacony where the Trailblazer is summoned by the head of the Alfalfa Family, Old Oti, to join a special entertainment program called “Sweet Dreams and the Holy Grail War”. This Holy Grail War will see seven participants who will summon Penacony’s historical figures that will be used as Servants just like the source material, Fate/Stay Night [Unlimited Blade Works] bringing in familiar characters like Robin, Aventurine and Boothill while being able to pull Saber, Archer, and Lancer.

The collaboration between Honkai Star Rail and Fate/Stay Night will begin July 11.

Saber will be a 5-star Wind Type/ Destruction character. Her ultimate is called “Excalibur” and deals big Wind DMG to ALL enemies and also converts her Basic ATK into an enhanced Basic ATK that can also target all enemies instead of a single target. She can also collect Core Resonance when she uses her technique, Basic ATKs and also when her teammates use their respective Ultimates. When that happens she can get gain an extra action.

Saber also increases her skill’s damage when she collects enough “Core Resonance” and instantly refills Energy required for her ultimate.

Starting from July 11, once the collaboration event begins and until the end of Version 3.6, Trailblazers who log in will be able to claim Archer, the limited 5-star collaboration character, for free. It’s worth mentioning here that the character and Light Cone collab banners will be available long-term after the event starts.

HSR version 3.4 will also follow the banners setup from the past with the first half bringing in 5-star characters like Tribbie, Sunday, and Sparkle. In the second half players can pull Firefly, Jingliu, and Blade. Regular pulls will also contain Silver Wolf, Blade, Kafka, and Jingliu. Another introduction would be the ability for players to toggle between classic and enhanced combat modes. This will allow trailblazers to change their playstyle.

Honkai: Star Rail is now available on PC, iOS, Android, Epic Games Store, and PS5, and has exceeded 150 million total downloads across all platforms. In 2023, the game won Apple’s App Store iPhone Game of the Year, Google Play’s Best Game, and BEST MOBILE GAME by The Game Awards. In 2024, it received the Golden Joystick Awards Still Playing Award (Mobile) and PlayStation® Partner Awards 2024 PARTNER AWARD among other honors. The game has been rated Teen by the ESRB and is also classified as PEGI 12.
