Doing spoilers for Amazing Spider-Man # 1000 particularly on the story by Joe Kelly and Pepe Larraz and the recently introduced long lost son of May and Ben Parker.
In this issue, Peter Parker raises to hospital after recieving a message telling him that his beloved Aunt May had a stroke and is in the hospital. Parker rushes to her room and finds her together with his cousin, Cormac Crane.
So while Aunt May is physically fine and out of trouble, the bigger problem is she’s suddenly forgotten who Peter Parker is. She focuses instead on being with her son, which really breaks Peter’s heart. During their little heart-to-heart talk, Peter Parker is suddenly overpowered by Cormac who has ditched his civilian clothes wearing his “Ravage” costume which is very reminiscent of the MJ-Venom.
Whatever Ravage’s power is, it afffects Spidey’s Spider-sense making him slower and easier to hurt and attack.
The two continue their fight outside with Peter officially introduced to Mac’s alter-ego, Ravage.
Through dialogue it’s revealed that he made Aunt May forget about Peter Parker. He has this ability of stealing memories and using them into all sorts of weapons including that mace he initially used and this club that was shaped using May Parker’s memory.
Now Ravage wants to kill Spider-Man to remove him completely from their lives and he can take over as May Parker’s favorite son.
During their battle, the two snap some cable cars which forces Spidey to do some quick thinking to rescue the cable car and the people inside, but that move ended up giving Ravage an opening to escape.
Let’s see how this goes. But I have this feeling that they will end this arc in a stalemate and Joe Kelly and the ASM team would bring Cormac back at some point for a rematch and then an eventual partnership. Maybe,
