Netflix announces Tomb Raider anime project with Hayley Atwell as Lara Croft
Netflix continues to dabble in more video game property as they recently announced a Tomb Raider anime project coming soon and they have officially announced Captain Carter herself, Hayley Atwell as Lara Croft.
So according to Netflix, this anime series is going to be set after the events of the reboot trilogy which was namely “Tomb Raider”, “Rise of the Tomb Raider” and “Shadow of the Tomb Raider”.
The series will also be done by Powerhouse Animation Studios who also did the main animation for other animated projects from Netflix like the entire Castlevania franchise, the Blood of Zeus series and recently the controversial Masters of the Universe: Revelations series. And let’s not forget that Warner Bros Pictures rebooted the Tomb Raider franchise based on the 2013 game starring Alicia Vikander!
Meanwhile Hayley Atwell is currently working with Marvel Studios where she returns to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Peggy Carter, with her most recent appearance being in “What If…?” where she’s become Captain Carter.
Based on recent developments for the show and the What If mid-season sneak peek that was released yesterday, Atwell’s Captain Carter could join the multiversal Avengers team that Uatu the Watcher could be assembling to save the multiverse by the end of the animated Marvel Studios show on Disney+.
