Assassin’s Creed Unity free to Download from Ubisoft to pay tribute to Notre Dame Church

Ubisoft recently released a post on their blog stating that they are giving away digital copies of Assassin’s Creed Unity for free to commemorate and pay tribute to the Notre Dame church that burned down the other day.

It was Monday when news broke out of the fire that started from the Notre Dame’s rooftops. A day passed and a lot of online media picked up on the story of Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Unity having a Notre Dame that looks exactly like the real thing.

Below you’ll see the photo of the aforementioned virtual version of the beloved tourist destination in France.

Here’s what Ubisoft wrote on their blog today:

As the smoke clears on the events that unfolded on Monday at the Notre-Dame de Paris, we stand in solidarité with our fellow Parisians and everyone around the world moved by the devastation the fire caused. Notre-Dame is an integral part of Paris, a city to which we are deeply connected. Seeing the monument in peril like this affected us all.

In light of Monday’s events, we will be donating €500,000 to help with the restoration and reconstruction of the Cathedral. We encourage all of you who are interested to donate as well. In addition, we want to give everyone the chance to experience the majesty and beauty of Notre-Dame the best way we know how.
