John Cena as Duke Nukem?
Reports are coming in that John Cena as Duke Nukem is going to be a thing in a year or two.
At the moment, the only thing we know is that John Cena as Duke Nukem can be a thing because the project’s still in the very early stages of development.
Duke Nukem made a name for himself with his earliest rise to fame with the first-person shooter DUKE NUKEM 3D. This game featured a lot of politically incorrect stuff including telling strippers to “shake it, baby”.
They tried to re-do and claim the glory with DUKE NUKEM FOREVER a few years later though it didn’t get the same acclaim. Nukem still has a great fandom with his appearances in other games including a special appearance as a DLC in Bulletstorm: Full Clip.
Cena on the other hand is a regular in movies and TV. He usually appears in WWE shows like Smackdown Live and Raw and has appeared in films including Ferdinand, Daddy’s Home 2 and in the upcoming Blockers as well as a prominent role in the Bumblebee solo movie.
To be honest, I don’t see anybody else getting the role for the live-action version of Duke Nukem and while I did get over my frustration that DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. didn’t cast him as Shazam. Would have been cool if we saw a superhero beat down in the veins of Wrestlemania.
