Marvel Prepares to say bye to the Krakoa Era with this Uncanny X-Men # 700 cover by Pepe Larraz
Marvel is saying goodbye to the X-Men’s Krakoa Era with this extra special cover for Uncanny X-Men # 700 or X-Men # 35 if you’re following the current numbering system.
This could actually be a fun exercise in naming all the characters in the page a e there’s a lot actually. Marvel wasn’t joking either when they said that it’s the coming together of the past, present and future of the X-Men.
And I love how they positioned Magneto and Charles Xavier who may or may not return to the wheelchair. Then there’s also a human version of Moira MacTaggert although that could be just a visual cue and not really a tease on the upcoming reality reset for the Merry Mutants.
So what’s happening here is that the X-Men will be reverting somewhat to a smaller scale after a couple of years operating as an island nation of Krakoa. This era is being removed slowly in the ongoing miniseries Fall of the House of X and Rise of the Powers of X books by Gerry Duggan and the rest of X-team at Marvel.
I guess the whole era was based on Jonathan Hickman moving forward with his ideas but the man had already left around the time the Inferno storyline was published and has since moved.on to write G.O.D.S. and Ultimate Spider-Man.
