Dune: Part Two picks up right when the first movie ended, and for Timothée Chalamet, who plays the main character Paul Atreides, going back into the expansive world was a dream. “It was a dream to return to the world of ‘Dune,’ not only returning to castmates I had a beautiful working  experience with the first time, but also getting to see their characters expand, like Chani. And getting to  work with new, super-talented actors, like Austin Butler, and Florence Pugh, who I’d done a film with  before. And of course getting to see Denis bring his full vision to life,” Chalamet says.

Zendaya, who plays the Fremen warrior Chani, also felt the scale and excitement of continuing the journey of Dune. “I only had a few days of filming on ‘Dune,’ so I was excited to come back and have a chance to explore so  much more of Chani. Filming ‘Dune: Part Two’ absolutely surpassed any kind of dream I could’ve ever  had. Being on those sets, with those incredibly talented people in every department… I was in awe.”

New characters join the fight for Arrakis as Austin Butler and Florence Pugh, playing Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen and Princess Irulan, respectively, round out the cast of Dune: Part Two. Butler, having read the novel as a teen, is a massive fan of the first film.  “The first time I watched it I had the same feelings I felt when I saw ‘Apocalypse Now’ for the first time. I  knew right then that I wanted to be a part of the next one. So, I feel very fortunate,” Butler says. Pugh also shares her experience in becoming part of the film. “It was quite possibly the most thrilling welcome to a world I think I have ever experienced, and probably  ever will experience,” she says, talking about how much she wanted to get involved with the film. “If Denis told me I could be Spear Carrier #3, I’d have said yes, just to experience the entire beast of this movie. Joining the cast as epic as this is always something that you want to get involved with.”

Continue the epic journey as Dune: Part Two arrives in Philippine cinemas on February 28.
