Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season Finale ends with a return to a familiar island
Apple TV’s Monarch: Legacy of Monsters ends its first season with a nice cliffhanger and a return to a familiar island we’ve known to love and at the same time deeply connected to the Randa family who are at the center of this Monsterverse spinoff series.

In the final moments of the episode, as the characters reunite, it’s revealed that they were actually received by the company known as APEX. Remember this was the same company that produced MechaGodzilla who appeared at the end of Godzilla vs Kong.
They are then evacuated and the scene cuts to the exterior where its revealed that this was happening in an APEX outpost in Skull Island and the storm there is getting worse…
Worse is that they are about to be attacked by the island’s protector, Kong who makes a brief cameo as the ultimate cliffhanger for the series.
So what does this mean?
It looks like the Randa family are far from over from their adventures and we could be seeing more gaps into the Monsterverse world. There are a lot of stories to tell too especially the fate of Kurt Russell’s Lee Shaw who obviously didn’t die during the portal run. And this could also give us more details into how APEX rose to prominence between Godzilla and Godzilla vs Kong.
