Here’s a look at New Images for Joker: Folie à Deux featuring Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix who reprises his role as Joker!
Director Todd Phillips recently revealed new photos for the film Joker: Folie à Deux featuring Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga. In an Instagram post he writes:
“Wishing everyone a happy holiday and a beautiful new year,” Phillips shared on Instagram alongside the two pictures.
The film is based on the DC Comics character and is a sequel to the 2018 film. For this sequel we should also expect to see Grammy award winner Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn. The photo above sees Phoenix’s Joker inside his jail cell which could be a continuation of how we last saw him at the end of the first film.
The second photo is the one that’s more interesting as we see Gaga’s Harley Quinn looking longingly at Joker who also seems to be wearing his trademark makeup.
The film is not connected in anywhere to the film universe currently being developed by James Gunn and Peter Safran which is now referred to as the “DC Universe” ditching the last monicker that was “DC Extended Universe”. I believe that this is called an “Elseworlds” project in the same vein as Matt Reeves’ The Batman.
Joker: Folie a Deux also stars Catherine Keener, Brendan Gleeson and Zazie Beetz.
