Ramen Nagi Marks a Decade of Exceptional Ramen Experiences
At the start of the brand, Chef Satoshi Ikuta wanted to bring people together through the shared pleasure of enjoying a warm, delicious bowl of ramen. Today, Ramen Nagi, a well-known ramen chain giant, celebrates the 10th anniversary of bringing authentic Hakata ramen to the Philippines.
Ikuta’s journey from starting out in small, traditional Hakata ramen shops to being the first to use the new “aida kari” method has been a big part of how the brand has grown. Because he was an enterprising person, he opened Ramen Nagi in Tokyo’s famous Tachikawa Ramen Square. He then opened successful locations in Shibuya and Shinjuku Golden Gai.
In December 2013, Ramen Nagi expanded its reach by setting up shop in Manila, a busy city. Together with Erickson and Roxanne Farillas, Winnie Chua-Go, and Michael Kho, the brand opened its first store in the Philippines at SM Aura, introducing real Hakata ramen to Filipino food fans.
In the past ten years, Ramen Nagi has reached many important milestones. In 2015, it won the prestigious Zomato People’s Choice Award. In 2017, it opened its first Manila King location and came up with new products like ramen kits and a kid’s meal.
Ramen Nagi also made vegan ramen in reaction to the growing demand for plant-based options. This shows that the brand is committed to being open to everyone and coming up with new ideas. The brand has also teamed up with well-known Tokyo ramen shops like Ramen No. 11, Antcicada, and Inosho to give its loyal customers new ways to enjoy ramen.
“We’ve been a part of different stories of people bonding over warm bowls of our ramen,” said Erickson Farillas, the creative leader who brought Ramen Nagi to the Philippines. We’ve been a small but essential part of people’s lives for everything from birthdays to weddings and even proposals. He also said, “Ramen Nagi is committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality and innovation, consistently pushing the boundaries of ramen creation and exceeding expectations.”
As part of their anniversary celebrations, Ramen Nagi held “Ramen Nagi X: A Decade of Excellence,” a special event at their first store in SM Aura. Chef Ikuta made The Wagyu King, a two-day limited special bowl.
As a way to celebrate the brand’s 10th anniversary, Ramen Nagi gave the first 100 customers who came in at 6PM last DECEMBER 15, 2023, a super special Butao treat for only PHP 10. This offer is only good for people who buy ramen.
Everyone is welcome to join Ramen Nagi’s celebration of ten years of cooking bowls full of love, passion, and flavors that have brought people together.
