The initial adventures of Monkey D Luffy and the rest of the Strawhat pirates is getting a remake as Jump Fiesta 2024 has already begun with big news about a One Piece remake anime set for production next year!
For the announcement we got this nice art done by the folks of WIT Studio who will be revisiting Luffy’s first few adventures in the East Blue. Below you can see the full poster…
The remake comes as part of One Piece’s 25th anniversary and we also got a teaser trailer for this announcement…
WIT Studio president George Wada also posted some additional statements regarding the anime remake on the WIT Studio Youtube channel’s own teaser post. He writes:
To all ONE PIECE Fans:
We are pleased to announce that WIT STUDIO is the production studio for “THE ONE PIECE,” a new ONE PIECE project. To all Creators:
We need your help to excite everyone around the world once again with the classic story of ONE PIECE, a treasure of Japan.
Are you ready to join our staff in this new adventure?
We are currently recruiting new crew members for this project.
We’re looking forward to your participation!!
-President: George Wada
The original One Piece animation was one by TOEI Animation but you can really see how dated the animation is compared to their output these days including that stunning Kaido vs Gear Five Luffy which bookended the Wano Arc of One Piece. And Netflix even has a dog in this fight as they will be also streaming the OP remake anime when it comes out.
For now there are a number of ways to enjoy One Piece from the English dubbed episodes and the live-action episodes on Netflix to Crunchyroll and more!
