Xiaomi TV A Pro Review (32-inches)

Here’s my Xiaomi TV A Pro Review (32-inches) which is now available in stores as well as on Shopee and Lazada for just P8,990!

First let’s do the unboxing for this product:

And now let’s begin.

This very, very affordable Smart TV sports a premium metallic frame with little bezels on the corners. This helps improve the viewing experience tremendously. Like whether you’re watching a video on Youtube or Netflix, you can definitely get your money’s worth.

It wouldn’t be a smart TV without being able to connect to the Internet and for this product we have a Google TVTM as well as the home control with the built-in Google Assistant.

I’m totally hyped with this TV because while it’s a standard LED TV, you can barely see the difference; sure the brightness could get some work but if you’re not looking at the finer details, you can definitely enjoy the viewing experience. In terms of Resolution it’s at 1,366 x 768 with a color depth of 16.7 million and a refresh rate 60Hz. Whether it’s anime or something from Youtube or even gaming, you can be sure that you get crisp and clear colors and images.

The viewing angles are also pretty decent with 178°(H)/178°(V), slightly moving to the left or right could still give you a good vantage but I as common sense dictates, you won’t be able to see anything when you are on the far left or right.

We are also covered well when it comes to audio as the unit comes with powerful 20W speakers with Dolby AudioTM, DTS-X, and DTS Virtual: X support. It can definitely stand on it’s own perfect for when you decide to use the Spotify app on your TV and you want to bust out some rockin’ good music. However, I do suggest that you invest in good quality soundbar or speakers to really go all out in the sound department.

UX and UI

The interface for the Xiaomi TV A Pro is smooth as butter partly because of the processor for the TV which features a Quad-core Cortex-A55 CPU, a Mali G31 MP2 GPU and 1.5GB RAM. Google has perfected their Smart TV technology so we can also credit them thanks to the built-in Chromecast. This opens up a world of possibilities starting with the generic streaming service apps from Disney+, the Netflix to Prime Video and HBO Go.

Then you can also expand your apps by downloading from the menu screen including stuff like Tiktok, Crunchyroll and even VivaMax.

One of the downsides I found setting up the Xiaomi TV A Pro 32-inches would be the total time it takes to synch up your Google account on the Smart TV. It took me around 10 to 15 minutes just to get to the main menu for this Smart TV.

As seen above, you can also add in a couple more Google Accounts.

Going back to the Apps section, it’s also nice to be able to get choices for different genres namely EntertainmentMusic & AudioVideo Players and more.

In terms of energy efficiency, the product received an “A” Energia rating using 36 watts of electricity on active mode. Sounded like a really good deal for a Smart TV under P10,000.

And here’s a look at the main menu for the Smart TV which lets you choose the type of screensaver that you would want to use on the TV, the picture quality, the Wi-Fi connection and the sound input. Honestly though, don’t expect super good quality for the TV as is; you really need to get a superior quality soundbar to make things go “oomph”.

Once your Google account’s been synched in, it’s also fairly easy to watch your bought or rented movies from Google which you can access via the Library.

We also get the standard number of ports at the back and here’s a look at the menu options namely HDMI 1 and HDMI 2 as well as TV and AV. But it’s default setting would be the Google TV Home.

Final Verdict

The Xiaomi TV A Pro series led by the 32-inch version is a fine “get” for people who would want a good quality Smart TV for under Php10,000. You get crisp and clear TV images at an affordable price. The audio is decent at most but you can certainly benefit for getting some good quality sound bar or speaker. Connectivity and UI is awesome. It has the same build and speed as the latest Google Chromecast devices out in the market today. It’s nice that you can pretty much get the streaming apps you usually use on your phone and into your TV.  So get this one today as its definitely a keeper.
