HONOR 90 5G – Flagship quality at a great price
Here’s my HONOR 90 5G review which is now out in stores with SRP of Php 24,990 featuring 200MP Ultra Clear main camera, 12GB RAM (+7GB RAM Turbo) and 512GB internal storage and more. It’s available on Lazada, TikTok and Shopee!
The HONOR 90 5G is a splendid looking smartphone with a simplistic design and overall feel. The phone’s back is made out of plastic and you can really feel its plastic-y feel but at the same time it also feels sturdy. The colors for the Honor 90 5G is also pretty interesting. Buyers can choose from a total of 4 different versions namely Midnight Black, Emerald Green, Diamond Silver, Peacock Blue. I personally love the Peacock Blue design.
There’s very little camera protrusions for this smartphone so it makes it easier to clutch and hold while walking. Standard designs from an Android phone is also to be expected in this smartphone with the power button on the right hand side as well as the volume controls that are placed above. Nothing on the left hand side and the top part of the phone while the bottom has the USB charging port, SIM card module and a lone forward firing speaker.
You also don’t have to worry that it’s clunky because it weighs only 183 g. It also won’t be noticeable inside your pocket because of the 161.9 x 74.1 x 7.8 mm dimensions. It’s pretty slim and light that’s a fact.
The HONOR 90 5G comes with a 6.7-inch HDR10+ OLED display together with a curved design that prevents you from touching some buttons accidentally on the display. It also features one of their unique selling points, the 120Hz refresh rate that eliminates flickers on your screen. In terms of entertainment, you’re set with the quality of the screen and the display on the HONOR 90 5G. The colors are bright without having to look like they exaggerated versions of themselves. One drawback though to your viewing experience is the lack of depth and bass. It’s not loud enough which is because the phone only has one speaker.
The biggest selling point for the Honor 90 5G would be it’s camera which comes in at a whopping 200MP. Aside from the main camera, you also get a 12MP ultrawide lens and a 2 MP lens.
The smartphone also kicks some serious butt when used at night. The Night mode is exceptional although I have to say that there are some inconveniences including the fuzzy images when you zoom in at night mode outputs. It doesn’t look super natural but it still looks good.
Here are some sample shots I took with the phone while outdoors…
There are different features for the camera that you can choose from including:
Scan Document and more.
Selfies are also pretty good. It comes with a 50MP lens which means you can take better photos and videos, a cut above the normal or current smartphones in the market for 2023. Videos using the front camera can also hit as much as 4K resolution.
The video quality is also something that needs to be discussed a bit as I found the image stabilization of the camera very exciting to use. Here’s a sample video inside a moving MRT cart. Y’all know how wobbly and shaky that ride is and yet here we are.
It’s also amazing how the quality is just staying good throughout that ride.
The front and the rear video camera can come in different sizes and resolutions starting 720p at 16:9, 1080p at 16:9 aspect ratio, 21:9 at 1080p and 16.9 at 4K resolution. More sample videos as I recently unboxed and unwrapped the Lord of the Rings x Magic The Gathering Collectors Booster
If you’re looking for a capable smartphone under P30,000 that has good quality camera as well as immense chipset then the HONOR 90 5G is definitely for you. You can hit smooth gaming sessions with the HONOR 90’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 Accelerated Edition coupled with 128GB RAM.
I don’t have any qualms when it came to the battery. After all, why would you even gripe about a phone that’s following the current standards coming in with a reliable 5000mAh battery together with 55W wired charging. It could have been better if it was fast-charging but considering the price range and the main camera’s capabilities, I’m good.
