So that classic joke about bringing all your family’s original documents is now coming true especially if your sponsor is a 4th degree relative. So you not only have to get an original PSA copy of your relative’s documents i.e. the birth certificate and what not, you also have to double notarized by the Philippine Embassy. So that means fuck your initial notary signature (which you already paid for) because it has to go through another round.

Thing is though, it’s an important step to ensure that everybody that goes abroad will be properly documented and not just disappear the moment their visa expires and go on a complete TNT or “Tago ng Tago” style.

And now for some of the funny and interesting comments from Reddit about this matter…

“They’re making it hard for citizens to leave kasi daming utang, need nila magbababayad for them”

“Kainis, tayo lang may paganyan-ganyan. I understand na they’re doing it to prevent some Filipinos from getting trafficked, pero yung tipong parang pakiramdam mo nakakababa maging Pinoy kasi kelangan mo pa ng maraming patunay na kaya mong magtravel.

Ang paigtingin nila yung paghuli sa trafficking syndicates, hindi ganyang kung anu-anong rules ang iniimpose.”

Vordeo: “Me: Has to bring several pages of documents to leave the country.

Foreigner: Can just fucking leave.

I love getting treated like a second class citizen in my own country. Tangina. I get the idea behind this, but this is a really stupid way of doing it.”
