The X-Men kills Thanos – Sins of Sinister # 1

So while it took all the big names in the Marvel Universe to take down the mad titan Thanos, it only takes a handful of mutants living in Krakoa as well as Mister Sinister’s evil agenda for them to take out the guy who snuffed out half of existence. Sins of Sinister # 1 spoilers coming!

If you read the surrounding text about this whole incident it looks like they were actually efficient in taking out Thanos. So apparently around this time in the story, Thanos has been tumbling around the timestream. The mutant precogs over at Krakoa recognize it as a primary threat so the Sinister-controlled mutants quickly deploy. They psychically manipulate Juggernaut to volunteer turning him into a hero. Then they use the mutant Micromax’s powers of to shrink him down into bullet size proportions. They load Juggernaut into a time-cannon which is fired by Hope Summers…

Who also borrowed the luck powers of Domino…

So that makes the shot a 100% success…

The end of this assassination isn’t as happy as it would seem because for this reality, Juggernaut is going to be lost in time and Thanos’ brains are floating all over the timestream. Nobody even bothered planning a retrieval for Juggernaut which is really sad considering how he’s doing pretty good in his solo book around the time of the formation of Krakoa.

In a sense, the X-Men pooling their brains together is something neat. Thanos was a larger threat and the Avengers just constantly let him go or don’t make sure that he’s never getting away. But Sinister’s X-Men just made sure that he’s never bouncing from the injuries he sustains making this version of the X-Men the most “sinister” version yet; even darker than the Inverted versions of the mutants we saw during Rick Remender’s Axis event book a few years ago.
