Jodie Turner-Smith joins Star Wars: The Acolyte
Actor Jodie Turner-Smith has been added to the upcoming Star Wars: The Acolyte which will be coming from Lucasfilm and Disney+.
The series doesn’t have more details at the moment but we do know that the other actor in the project would be Amandla Stenberg.
The show will have Leslye Headland as showrunner and is marketed as a “mystery-thriller” series with a Star Wars flaire to it. It’s also an important part of Star Wars history as it depicts the events that happened before the final days of the High Republic era aka the emergence of the Dark Side of the Force and the Sith.
Leslye Headland serves as showrunner of the mystery-thriller series, which will mark the first live-action screen incarnation of the High Republic era in “Star Wars,” a few centuries before the events of the Skywalker Saga with this expected to tackle the final days of that era.
The series is expected to begin production in London this Fall with Headland already indicating the show will take inspiration from classic wuxia films.
