In the story, the X-Men continue to defend the island of Krakoa from The Eternals who have officially made war against the mutants whom they consider being members of Deviants. And if you’ve seen Marvel’s The Eternals, it has been their mission to kill all deviants so the mutants must go under the orders of prime Eternal Druig.

Meanwhile the Avengers and the Eternals talk of a plan to take out the Progenator Celestial, the revived Celestial who decided to judge every man, woman and child on Earth with Mr. Sinister listening in. Sinister relays one plan to the mutants of the Quiet Council aka the Immortal X-Men. Destiny takes lead and calls for a vote with most deciding to kill the Celestial to stop the war and the attack.

But they have a pressing concern, the heavy hitters needed to kill the Celestial are currently busy defending Krakoa from the Eternal forces sent their way by Druig.

So Emma Frost, the White Queen, reveals her card and we see that off page she has made contact with the Deviants and they easily enter the Krakoa gateway, thereby confirming the theory that mutants and deviants are cut from the same cloth.

The deviant known as Kro introduces the deviants and they are soon joining the fight giving the mutants the chance to sneak away from the fight and execute their plan to enter the Celestial’s body and hopefully make the cosmic being go “boom”.
