HBO Go price increase announced starting August 21

HBO’s streaming platform in Asia and select parts of the globe, HBO GO has announced a price increase for their monthly subscription.

According to their announcement, the price increase will start August 21, 2022 and will be a few pesos more than what we are already paying for their service. So the 1 month rate gets bumped up to P199 from their original rate of P149 while the 3-month sub will significantly increase by P100 from P299 to P399.

Here’s a screenshot of their email announcement…

It is a bit of a bummer that they announced this increase especially since they exclusively hold the upcoming House of the Dragon and Drag Race PH.

HBO Go is the VOD (video on Demand) platform for HBO which allows access to HBO affiliated shows and films. It was phased out in the US around 2020 but remained as the go-to-platform for other territories including Asia. The US version was rebranded and relaunched as HBO MAX where they released Zack Snyder’s Justice League and more.
