Joker: Folie à deux News – Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn? Sequel is a musical?

The Hollywood Reporter has some news regarding the upcoming film Joker: Folie à deux  which will be directed by Todd Phillips and stars Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck aka Joker.

The rumor goes that Lady Gaga is being considered for a part in the Todd Phillips penned and directed sequel. While the casting rumors did not say who she is playing, there’s some buzz going around that she could be given the role of Dr. Harleen Quinzel aka Harley Quinn.

And it makes sense because you don’t cast Lady Gaga for minor roles after her awesome performance in films like A Star is Born and House of Gucci.

And now that its established that the Joker movie is an alternate world tale, its easy to discern why there are two actresses playing Harley Quinn with Warner’s lot. The first ofcourse being Margot Robbie.

Phillips and Gaga have also previously worked together in “A Star is Born” where Phillips served as a producer working together with the Grammy-winner and Bradley Cooper.

THR also notes that the film could be a musical, continuing the trend of meshing other genres in a comic book based movie.
