Sasha Banks and Naomi reportedly walked out from their RAW main event match
There’s something happening over at the WWE with the promotion’s Twitter account reporting that the main event women’s tag match was cancelled due to the Raw Women’s Tag Team Champions, Sasha Banks and Naomi, walking out and dropping their tag team belts in John Laurinatis’ office.
Here’s what is going around social media today about the supposed snub…
When Sasha Banks and Naomi arrived at the arena this afternoon, they were informed of their participation in the main event of tonight’s Monday Night Raw.
During the broadcast, they walked into WWE Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis office with their suitcases in hand, placed their tag team championship belts on his desk and
walked out. They claimed they weren’t respected enough as tag team champions. And even though they had eight hours to rehearse and construct their match, they claimed they were uncomfortable in the ring with two of their opponents even though they’d had matches with those individuals in the past with no consequence. Monday Night Raw is a scripted live TV show, whose characters are expected to perform the requirements of their contract.
We regret we were unable to deliver, as advertised, tonight’s main event.

Even the New York Post has written about this:

I feel though that this could just be a work and something that they planned as a gimmick. Whatever it is though, its generating more buzz even outside of the usual pro-wrestling communities. And I’d like to think that the Star Wars fandom has a little bit to do with that. Remember Sasha Banks (real name Mercedes Varnado) appeared in a number of episodes for the Disney+ series The Mandalorian and because she’s also a big geek outside the wrestling ring.
Hopefully this all gets sorted out and the company realizes how talented these women are and their aforementioned talents shouldn’t be squandered away.
