Book of Boba Fett star Temuera Morrison confirms Slave 1’s new name in recent interview

Looks like the popular Slave 1 owned and operated by the bounty hunter Boba Fett is officially named the Firespray now.

So if you remember some time back Disney announced that they were planning to change the name of Fett’s iconic ship because the term Slave has a negative connotation to it. That would affect all types of stuff from toys and other merch.

And now that looks like the it has come to pass as even the actor who plays Boba Fett (and previously Mango Fett) Temuera Morrison has confirmed that the Slave 1 is now referred to as the Firespray gunship.

In his interview with The Wrap together with his co-stars Ming-Na Wen, Morrison spoke about the controversial name swap.

“I think we call it The Firespray, I think I’ve mentioned it in a couple of episodes … It’s a gunship now. That’s what we’re calling it. Firespray gunship.”
