Genshin Impact Anniversary drama continue as fans review bomb on Google Play
The Genshin Impact anniversary drama continues to trend locally and worldwide as angry fans have started to review bomb the game on Google Play.
When the hashtag #genshinanniversary trended on Twitter hours ago it was around 3.9 for the review score and now as I write this post and took these screenshots on my phone, the game’s score on Google Play has dropped down to 2.0.
It keeps coming down fast and shows no sign of slowing dowm holy shit

And it went apparently from 4.4 rating or score to 3.6 within 24 hours.
Here’s a screenshot when it went down to 3.7.

What caused this outrage?
The cause of the outrage with Genshin Impact the game and with the developer Mihoyo stems from the Genshin Anniversary which was yesterday, September 28. Fans were expecting some big rewards including primogems, resins, better item drops and even a 5 star character pull.
When Mihoyo announced the items and prizes they would be giving out, fans started to push back. Even youtube content creators like Mtashed aired their opinions about this.
Then there’s also the scathing reception of players and the fanbase to the recently released 5-Star character Sangonomiya Kokomi for Genshin Impact version 2.1. For that end, fans even harassed the Chinese voice actress for Kokomi when she did a live stream, which also forced her to restrict the chatting during the stream.
What to expect?
Honestly I think this will only get worse with the next target of player and fandom misbehavior being the already announced Genshin Impact concert happening in October which is just a few days away. Maybe these fans would spam the comments section or even call for a boycott. They are already doing this now with the review bombing on Google Play.
Genshin Impact is still available to play for free on various platforms including on Mobile, Playstation 4, Playstation 5 and PC.
