John Arcilla wins Volpi Cup Best Actor Award for On The Job: The Missing 8
Great news for Pinoy movie fans, our representatives scored big at the Venice Film Festival today as John Arcilla wins Volpi Cup Best Actor Award for his role in the Erik Matti-helmed On The Job: The Missing 8.
Arcilla, who we regularly see in “Ang Probinsyano”, won the Volpi Cup Best Actor Award for his lead role in the crime drama On The Job: The Missing 8 which was directed by Erik Matti who also recently did A Girl + A Guy which was streamed exclusively on Upstream. In the movie, Arcilla plays a dirty journalist named Sisoy Salas who is tasked with investigating the disappearance of fellow journalists.
The original “On the Job” movie also got some good traction recently as its been released as a series for HBO and HBO Go this month. Take note that the original On The Job was turned into a six episode series by Matti himself so expect it to be clean and even better in series format.
