Nightwing # 80 reveals Nightwing’s new weapons function that helps the Bat-Family
Tom Taylor and Bruno Redondo’s Nightwing # 80 reveals that Nightwing’s redesigned weapons have the other members of the Bat-Family in mind.
Spoilers below for Nightwing # 80
So Nightwing aka Dick Grayson has inherited a big amount of money from Alfred Pennyworth because his father figure thought that he has the power to be a force for good and the money can be a good way of helping him out.
One of the first things that Dick does is attend the needs of the less fortunate which puts his attention in various shelters across Bludhaven. Its here that he finds out that the mob boss Blockbuster has been harassing the needy and forcing him to give “offerings” or tributes. He asks for Barbara Gordon aka Batgirl and Tim Drake aka Robin’s help in getting to the bottom of it.
During an undercover investigation, Nightwing and Robin end up getting into a fight with Blockbuster’s enforcers namely Electrocutioner and Brutale. Seeing that Tim doesn’t have a weapon to even up the odds, we see that Nightwing did some redesigns and modifications to his escrima sticks.
The escrima sticks can now be joined together to form a bo staff, Robin’s signature weapon. I think this is something similar in the Injustice games.
Also one has to wonder what he has in store as “support items” for other members of the Bat-Family like in case he goes on an adventure with Jason Todd aka Nightwing. Is this something he did strictly for the former and current Robins of the Bat-Family?
