LGU Vaccination Drives held at SM City Masinag and SM City San Mateo
The charm of malls as an accessible venue to all has helped in the quick roll-out of vaccination by the local governments of San Mateo and Antipolo City to its residents. This week, SM City San Mateo and SM City Masinag partner with the local authorities in providing its spacious facilities as vaccination centers.
Priority groups A1, medical frontliners, and A3, persons with co-morbidities, are among the recipients of the Sinovac vaccines in the cinema area of SM City San Mateo. Theaters and its lobby served as vital signs area, registration, vaccination and recovery stations. Mayor Tina Diaz of San Mateo paid a visit last April 12 to check on the situation and the welfare of her constituents while queuing for vaccines.
Likewise, hundreds of pre-registered senior citizens, who belong to the A2 priority group, take turn in getting their Sinovac vaccines at SM City Masinag’s cinema lobby. These vaccines are as well provided by the Antipolo City Government. The mall provided a cool and spacious waiting area, which eases the anxiety of seniors as they await their turn. Registration, counseling, vaccination and recovery areas are also put in place. Antipolo City Mayor Andrea Ynares also made a quick stop at the vaccination area in the mall to check on the situation.
With implementation of health protocols, SM Supermalls continues to partner with respective local government units, where its malls are located, in providing convenient venues to serve as Covid-19 vaccination facilities.
