First official look at the CW’s Powerpuff Girls Live Action series “Powerpuff”

Following the announcement of the CW series called Powerpuff which is a live action continuation of the Cartoon Network series Of the Powerpuff Girls, we now have an official key visual for the series simply titled Powerpuff.

Dove Cameron will be playing Bubbles, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. starChloe Bennett is Blossom and Yanna Perault will play Buttercup. The girls’ fsther, Professor Utonium, will be played by Donald Faison.

Here’s the logline for the new series:

The Powerpuff Girls used to be America’s pint-sized superheroes, now they’re disillusioned twentysomethings who resent having lost their childhood to crime fighting. Will they agree to reunite now that the world needs them more than ever? Based on the original Cartoon Network animated series and characters created by Craig McCracken.

Also the photos that recently went viral online wont be the girls’ actual wardrobe in the series but rather flashback scene costumes. Many believe that this would be the girls during their teenage years.

Mggie Kiley would serve as the director for the show while Diablo Cody and Heather Regnier serve as writers for the series. These three together with Greg Berlanti, David Madden and Sarah Schechter serve as the series’ executive producer.
