Zawe Ashton heavily rumored to play main villain for Captain Marvel 2

Deadline reports that there are heavy talks between Marvel Studios and actress Zawe Ashton (Velvet Buzzsaw) for Captain Marvel 2.

Disney and Marvel Studios has yet to confirm nor deny this news bit but it looks like they are almost done with the deal. What’s more curious now is who could be the main villain for the sequel. It’s hard to tell because at the moment Marvel has become an expert at laying down tons of layers and connections to other projects that they have. Just look at how interconnected WandaVision is with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness or how Spider-Man Far From Home connects to Secret Invasion and even The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Captain Marvel opened in US theaters at $153,433,423. In the states it earned a total of $426,829,839. Internationally the film made $702,897,549 giving it a grand global box office record of $1,129,727,388.

Captain Marvel 2 will be directed by Nia Dacosta and stars Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris and Iman Vellani. It is currently slated for a November 2022 release date!
